Turkey Hill can be added to the growing list of companies who rely on alternative energy to power their product lines. They announced that a quarter of their power needs is generated by wind. Their project, which is known as the Frey Farm, went online in February and so far has produced over 769kw.

The turbines are located on the banks of the Susquehanna River, and will be used exclusively by Turkey Hill Daily. The genrated energy is enough to make six million gallons of ice cream annually and 15 million gallons of Turkey Hill’s iced tea, Turkey Hill says.  The wind farm consists of 2 GE Wind Turbines.turkey-hill
