World demand continues to rise steadily annually through 2010

 

The continued rising interest in developing domestic renewable energy resources, such as wind, is expected to increase 6.8 percent per year in the US to $9.1 billion in 2010.

Wind as an energy resource is cleaner and not subject to fuel price shocks, hence the demand for wind turbine systems and components is on a continued rise since 1997 as illustrated below.

These gains are driven by the continued political will to support incentives that help to make wind energy more cost competitive. Continued technological development is also making wind energy more competitive in a growing number of areas with lower wind speeds and in offshore installations.
