Erciyas Çelik Boru A.Ş, is one of Turkey’s leading manufacturers and top exporters of spiral-welded steel pipes. It has signed an agreement to construct a wind power plant using 16 V112-3.3 MW wind turbines, yielding  52MW. The site, at Kavalki will be ready for turbine installation in the first quarter of 2014. They will be commissioned in the second quarter of 2014.

Kavakli is in the southern province of Balikesir in Turkey. The contract includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the wind power plant, plus a five-year AOM4000 full scope availability/maintenance agreement.

Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Erciyas Çelik Boru A.Ş, said

Vestas V112 3.3MW Turbines for Kavakli Wind Farm, Turkey

Olcayto Yigit, General Manager, Vestas Turkey,  said:

The Kavakli RES wind power plant will have an estimated annual production of about 193,000 MWh per year, which will save the environment from over 95,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year. It will provide enough electricity for the residential electricity consumption of more than 390,000 people in Turkey.
