Per Seller:

The available includes two new (unused)  2010 Energy Model 1.5XLE wind turbine gear heads, 1.5 MW rated generation units only. This  does not include hub, blades or tower.

On February 12, 2010, the railcar  carrying the two GE gear heads was being switched.  The railcar with the two gear heads was backed onto the siding where the derailer was inadvertently set. The car was derailed with the wheels setting on the ties/ballast and the car and load upright.

When the railcar was pulled forward, the wheels ran on the ties and track ballast for about 70 yards where the left side went off the end of the ties and the car rolled over. It came to rest upside down with the loaded gear heads upside down on the ground.

The 1.5XLE wind turbine is a 1.5MW unit with an installed hub height of 80 meters and a rotor diameter of 82.5 meters. The wind turbine components are manufactured and/or assembled at various locations. The gear heads were assembled at the Pensacola, FL facility.  Each wind turbine consists of four major components that are shipped to the erection site separately. The components are the tower, the gear head, the hub and the blades (three).  The tower supports the assembled wind turbine. The three blades are attached to the hub that mechanically connects the blades to the main shaft (in the gear head).  The gear head contains the energy conversion mechanical equipment.

The principal components of the gear head are enclosed in a nacelle and include:
Heat exchanger (for generator).
Control panel.
Generator.
Oil cooler (for hydraulic systems).
Main frame.
Gearbox.
Yaw drive.
Yaw bearing.
Main shaft.
Main bearing.
