The WinWind WWD-1 is a robust 1 MW turbine providing high yields especially at sites with low wind speeds. The WWD-1 is suitable for locations with challenging logistical conditions, size-limited areas, as well as inland sites.

The Winwind WWD-1 is a 1 MW turbine suitable for areas with challenging logistical conditions (mountains, islands, etc.) and/or environmentally size-limited areas with rotor diameters of 56, 60 and 64 m. The 56 m diameter turbine is for higher wind speed sites (IEC wind class II) while the 60 and 64 m diameter turbines provide higher energy yields at lower wind speed sites.

The WWD-1 is a highly reliable and robust wind turbine throughout its entire lifecycle. One of the WWD-1’s advantages is that the main bearing is transferring the rotor loads directly to the main casing of the supporting structure, keeping the whole drive train free from deformation. The integrated power unit, comprising the main bearing, planetary gearbox, and permanent magnet synchronous generator, eliminates the unreliability of high-speed components.
The WWD-1 wind turbine maximizes energy capture, especially at low wind speed sites. A very high efficiency is achieved by using an energy-optimized rotor and a permanent magnet generator. The WinWind WWD-1 provides high productivity also in extremely demanding conditions and fulfills the most demanding grid code requirements. This is achieved through an advanced controller system and full conversion inverters.
