Wild Wind Turbine Platoon – Nothern Europe

Wild wind Turbine Platoon

I am thrilled at finding other people in the world wanting to make a change. I was in a hilly area in nothern europe and saw a small wind farm that a local farmer started. He has about 30 windmills up and place on the highest part of the ridges of his property. I was about ten miles away and could see them. They were an awesome sight. I was told that whatever he does not use up the local utility company has to buy back from him at the going rate. I would love to see something like that in every area which has sufficiant wind available in every part of the world

Romantic Wind Turbines Horizon

“Wind farms looks like modernist sculptures!” Exactly. And that’s precisely why so many people are against it. They don’t want the ideology of high modernism disrupting the very different order of the natural world. The metaphysical kernel of truth in the nimby response is: modernist functionalism is an anthropocentric aesthetic of the machine, because it equates value with human interests, and it is mechanistic because it sees natural systems as mechanisms to be mastered, rather than as dynamic, non-linear systems which cannot be controlled. Functionalism is anthropocentrism. However, Wind turbines spinning almost silently and slowly in front of a romantic horizon is something beautiful to look at!
