White Deer Windpark
 
Beautiful and controversial shot of Jesus RIP on cross in front of a Wind Turbine Skyline at White Deer which is Shell WindEnergy’s second major commercial project in the US. The 80 megawatt (MW) wind power facility is located 40km north-east of Amarillo, Texas. The White Deer project consists of 80 Mitsubishi 1MW turbines. The turbines are located in two groups, either side of a north-south running stream. The terrain consists of a slightly elevated area in a region of flat farming terrain and the land surrounding the turbines continues to be used for farming activities. The local area also contains small oil producing wells, and is traversed by several gas pipelines.

Each year, the project is estimated to produce enough power to meet the energy needs of around 24,000 American households.
