Lead Engineer – Power System Modelling

Our client, a a world leader in wind energy R&D and wind turbine manufacture are looking to appoint an experienced Power Systems Lead Engineer / Assistant Lead Engineer to join their Power Plant Systems team based in Singapore. The Plant Power System department specialises in development, operation and support within the Power Plant and Power Systems domains. The Plant Power System department consists of a dedicated and highly specialised team with employees located in Denmark, Singapore and US. Delivering the electro technical solutions and services which enables our sales teams to sell wind power plants on par with conventional oil and gas power plants. This includes grid integration, electrical engineering, plant control, simulation, modelling, third party supplier handling, electrical EPC etc.

The Plant Power System department works in close relationship with global research as well as with the international sales teams, transforming innovative technology and concepts into new products and service offerings.

Key Responsibilities include:
* Power system modelling analysis and simulations related to grid integration of individual wind turbine generator as well as integral wind power plant.
* Grid Code analysis and documentation.
* Modelling power electronic converters, wind (turbine generators and other key power system components) or (power plant comprising generator/converter, wind turbine, wind, power plant control, converter control, pitch control and reactive power compensation system)

Key skills / attributes required:
* Power Plant engineering experience
* Masters Degree/PhD in Power System Engineering
* Minimum 5 years experience in power system engineering and/or performance analysis including load flow and short circuit current calculation, power system transient and dynamic modelling and analysis
* Solid knowledge of power electronic converter and its control
* A variety of simulation tools (PSS/E, DIgSILENT Power Factory, PSCAD, Matlab)
* Power System Modelling experience essential
* Previous wind farm experience is very highly desirable
* Previous experience of living / working in Asia is very highly desirable
