Any surplus can then be sold on to the electricity board. The internet connection for the controller means the wind turbine can be monitored online. The separated main shaft and gearbox design, gives the GOLDWIND S48/750 a relatively light weight and makes the turbine very easy and convenient to maintain.

The GOLDWIND S48/750 comes with a torsion ally stiff backlash-free coupling system fitted between the gearbox and the 750kW generator which gives the GOLDWIND S48/750 a number of advantages over other conventional wind turbine designs of this class.

The BENZ PMG DD 900kW wind turbine’s configuration uses an innovative direct drive design (no gearbox) in conjunction with a permanent magnet generator with the end result being a significantly increased reliability for the system as a whole. This type of set up reduces the overall weight in the nacelle and requires a rotor speed which is significantly lower (13rpm -33rpm) than that for a doubly fed inductor generator designs using old fashioned gearboxes which usually need bearing changes after 5 years of operation . All of this means that the BENZ PMG DD 900kW turbine power train is more reliable, has fewer moving parts to go wrong, and requires much less maintenance than convential gearbox equipped turbines.

The result of the direct drive – permanent magnet technology is a system which significantly increases reliability and reduces maintenance costs. Reduced downtime for maintenance also means less non-producing time offline. The elimination of associated mechanical losses that are inevitable with gearboxes, also leads to improved efficiencies in the power conversion process.

The BENZ PMG DD 900kW generator itself is also much more robust than conventional systems, and gives greater efficiencies when wind speeds are not at full rating, compared to the earlier convential designs.

The BENZ PMG DD 900kW can be installed as a single unit on- or off grid wind turbine system or combined as multi-units building an on-grid independent wind farm connection.

The BENZ PMG DD 900kW wind turbine – with a tower hub heights available of 50m and 75m guarantees excellent yields in the 900kW category at inland sites.
