This item is a brand new USA Wind Generator Model 300-HD

wind turbine with manual furling. You are buying the complete

wind turbine only and not the test stand.

The motor comes with our 6061 T-6 machined arbor and ABS

plastic 3/16″ six blade prop hub with 6 blades. That’s right, 6

blades.

This turbine requires an average of 7.2 mph to begin turning

BUT… as soon as it starts turning it is charging your batteries.

In other words, if you can see it turning AT ALL you are

charging your batteries at least a little bit. Direct short tests

show 300-350 watts average output in 20 mph winds. Please

note that some motors will be tighter and require more wind

for startup until the motor is properly broken in.

It appears from our testing that this unit has some built in

overspeed protection.I have run the test unit in occasional 40

mph gusts and sustained 18-20 mph winds and it did not

overspeed nor did it sustain and blade damage during weeks

of testing.

I consider 15 mph to be the perfect wind for operating this

unit.

This unit is, in a word, unique when compared to other small

turbines. I find it refreshing to watch and it’s function reminds

me of the huge wind turbines that I see alongside the

interstate highways. It’s operation is, for lack of a better word,

gracefull. It turns slowly and charges your batteries unlike

most all small wind turbines that must spin several hundred

rpm to even start to charge your batteries.

Now on to a totally detailed description of its construction:

The six (yes, six blades) prop blades included with this turbine

are about 44″ across ( about 22″ each measured from the

center of the prop hub) . These light weight blades are made

from lightweight pvc pipe and were developed specifically for

lower start up speeds and in most cases will start turning the

turbine at 7.2 to 8.2 mph depending upon how long the

turbine motor has been run-in. Some new motors are tighter

and will require more wind to start turning.

The prop hub is made of 3/16″ ABS plastic and can be run

with 2,4, or 6 blades.

The arbor connecting the prop hub to the motor is machined

from 6061 T-6 aluminum.

The motor comes from the factory sealed from all weather.

The main beam is made of 3/4″ steel square tubing and

painted with black enamel.

The downtube that will eventually slip into your mounting pipe

(15\16″ to 1″ i.d.) is securely welded to the main beam by a

certified welder.
The tail fin is made of white plastic and is bolted to the

adjustable tail beam with a pair of 1/4″ bolts.

The motor cover, which is purely cosmetic and serves no

purpose at all, is made of plastic and painted with enamel.

Colors may vary.

The motor is securely connected to the main beam and will not

move.

A hole is drilled through the main beam and into the downtube

for those that prefer to run your wires through your tower or

pipe.

There is no slip ring because none is needed. Wire twisting has

never been a problem for us.
This is considered to be a 12/24/48 volt system .

with a 15/16″ – 1″ inside diameter.

The current produced by the turbine is DC and it comes with a

blocking diode installed so as not to drain your batteries when

the wind is not blowing.

The turbine comes 95% assembled and with full instructions

explaining how to assemble the final 5%. No special tools or

knowledge are needed.

You are purchasing the complete wind turbine as shown in the

photo and not the test stand that it is sitting on in the photo.
