These turbines were in fair operating condition until the 25th Nov 2011 when they had been dismantled. Please note that these turbines had been operating in a coastal area and had been exposed to salty and wet air conditions.

One of the most successful designs from the mid 1980s – 2 blade, downwind with conical stabilizer. Rated 25 KW at 27 mph wind. Composite blades, stall regulated w/flyball back up.

This used wind turbine for sale is from 1983 and has only produced 5830kWh. Currently installed in Minnesota – USA and grid-tied. This machine was made for 110V AC utility connected. The turbine was not a very well sited installation. It comes with a 60′ Rohn SSV lattice tower which is in very good condition.

to it, it will start turning in as little as 3-4 mph winds. I consider 20 mph winds to be perfect and 25-30 mph winds to be about maximum.

Some new motors are tighter (until broken in) and will require more wind to begin turning.

What can you use this turbine for? Well let me give you a few ideas.

1. Under good conditions (20+ mph winds) this unit will put out around 30 watts of power at around 13 volts. This will slowly trickle charge a 12 volt

battery. Just connect it to your battery red-red, black-black and it will work. No charge controller is needed.

2. If it’s turning at all (4-5 mph winds) it will charge any of your AAA, AA, C or D rechargable batterys. You’ll need to make a simple connector (not

included) and you’ve got hot batterys for your camera, Ipod, etc. anywhere you go. Hikers, hunters, boaters, etc. can really appreciate this.

3. I get emails almost every day from folks that want a real small wind turbine to power a small dc light bulb when it’s turning. They just want to see

a light burning when they look out the window at night or while sitting on the porch in the evenings. This unit will do that also. If it’s turning it will

light the bulb (not included) and it gets brighter as wind speed increases.

4. This unit is perfect for your childs school project or your own alternative energy project.

Here’s a detailed description of the item:

The unit is small, about 21″ long from the tip of the arbor to the end of the tailfin.
It comes with a blocking diode installed so as not to discharge your battery when the wind isn’t turning.

The main beam (frame) is made of 3/4″ steel square tubing and painted black. Plastic plugs are used to cap the ends of the turbing.
The downtube (the part that slips into your mounting pole, etc.) is 7/8″ o.d. steel and is welded to the main beam.
The tail fin (which keeps it pointed into the wind) is made of inexpensive white plastic and is bolted to the main beam.
The generator motor is solidly clamped to the main beam with a pair of steel bands.

The motor cover is made of pvc plastic and painted.Style and colors my vary.
Three blades come with the unit. They are made from thinwall pvc plastic pipe and were especially designed for low startup speeds.

The blades are about 17″ long each making the prop disc about 34″ across.
The arbor which connects the motor and prop hub is machined from 6061 T-6 aluminum.
The prop hub is made from 3/16″ ABS plastic and is light and strong.

The unit comes 95% assembled and any 12 year old can bolt on the tail fin, hub and blades in less than 10 minutes.
