Each wind turbine has it’s own step-up transformer (690 V/12 kV), also located on the tower foundation. The wind generators have a nominal generating voltage of 690V at a frequency of 50 Hz. Each generator is connected to an internal 12 kV grid. The generators produce 690 V, which is transformed up to a 12 kV for internal transport between generator to export point. At export point the 12 kV is again transformed up to 30 kV voltage in order to be transported via a 30 kV-cable over a 7 kilometers distance from the wind farm into a substation. The step-up 12kV/30kV transformer is located in the middle of the farm, between turbines number nine and ten.
