Geography, Climate, Demographics & Economy Overview
THE CITY OF JODHPUR
Jodhpur is the second largest city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Jodhpur is a popular tourist destination, featuring many palaces, forts and temples, set in the stark landscape of the Thar desert.
The city is known as the Sun City for the bright, sunny weather it enjoys all year. It is also referred as the Blue City due to the indigo tinge of the whitewashed houses around the Mehrangarh Fort. Jodhpur lies near the geographic centre of Rajasthan state, which makes it a convenient base for travel in a region much frequented by tourists. The old city of Jodhpur is surrounded by a thick stone wall.
Geography and climate
Jodhpur is located at 26°17′N 73°02′E / 26.29°N 73.03°E / 26.29; 73.03[3]. It has an average elevation of 232 metres (761 feet).
The climate of Jodhpur is generally hot and arid but with a rainy season from late June to September. Although the average rainfall is around 360 millimetres (14 in), it is extraordinarily variable.
Temperatures are extreme throughout the period from March to October, except when monsoonal rain produces thick clouds to lower it slightly. During these periods of heavy rain, however, the generally low humidity rises and this adds to the normal discomfort from the heat.
Economy
The Handicrafts industry has in recent years eclipsed all other industries in the city. By some estimates, the furniture export segment is a $200 million industry, directly or indirectly employing as many as 200,000 people. Other items manufactured include textiles, metal utensils, bicycles, ink and sporting goods. A flourishing cottage industry exists for the manufacture of such items as glass bangles, cutlery, carpets and marble products.
After handicrafts, tourism is the second largest industry of Jodhpur. Crops grown in the district include wheat and the famous Mathania red chillies. Gypsum and salt are mined. The city serves as an important marketplace for wool and agricultural products. The Indian Air Force, Indian Army and Border Security Force maintain training centres at Jodhpur.
THE CITY OF JAISALMER
Jaisalmer is located at 26°55′N 70°54′E / 26.92°N 70.9°E / 26.92; 70.9. It has an average elevation of 229 metres (751 feet).
Jaisalmer is situated on the border of India and Pakistan in West Rajasthan. The area of Jaisalmer is 5.1 km². The maximum summer temperature is around 41.6 °C while the minimum is 25 °C. The maximum winter temperature is 23.6 °C while the minimum is 7.9 °C. The average rainfall is 150 mm.
Jaisalmer is almost entirely sandy ground, forming a part of the Great Indian Desert and has a population of approx. 58,000 citizens. The general aspect of the area is that of an interminable sea of sand hills, of all shapes and sizes, some rising to a height of 150 ft. Those in the west are covered with log bushes, those in the east with tufts of long grass. There are no perennial streams, and one small river, the Kakni, which, after flowing a distance of 28 m., spreads over a large surface of flat ground, and forms a lake Orjhil called the Bhuj-Jhil. The climate is dry and healthy. Throughout Jaisalmer only raincrops, such as Bajra, Jawar, Motif, Til, etc., are grown; Owing to the scant rainfall, irrigation is almost unknown.
Distances: New Delhi (864 km), Jaipur (558 km), Mumbai (1177 km), Ahmedabad (626 km)
Economy
Tourism is a major industry in Jaisalmer.
The Government of India initiated departmental exploration for oil in 1955-56 in the Jaisalmer area. Oil India Limited’s discovered natural gas in 1988 in the Jaisalmer basin.
Jaisalmer is also known for their fine leather messenger bags made from wild camels native to the area.
Musicians and dancers are also a major cultural export of Jaisalmer to the rest of the world, Manganyar musicians played the world over since decades, and Queen Harish, the dancing whirling desert drag queen, certainly the most talented dancer from Rajasthan, is touring the world extensively and features in international movies.

I am in need to buy your land for its higher Raj prestige and I bet I should build as many energy towers as the space Is enormously great open and so I need to know what really there supports life,in terms of water and workers’ place or all am I to consider a burden? Is that meaning that your price isn’t negotiable.
